Sew Cute! Plushie Making: Color Block Bear - Valentine's Edition
In this Sew Cute! Plushie Workshop, we will be making a Color Block Bear with a Valentine's Day Twist! You’ll embark on a fun and vibrant journey to create your very own custom bear using bold, colorful fabric. This workshop is designed for all skill levels, as you’ll be guided through each step of the process, from selecting your color palette to stitching together the bear’s unique patchwork body.
Participants will reinforce basic sewing techniques while exploring the creative potential of combining different colors and patterns. The result is a playful, one-of-a-kind bear with a modern, artistic twist—a perfect addition to any home or a thoughtful handmade gift. All fabrics, sewing supplies, and stuffing will be provided. This workshop will be a mix of hand and machine sewing.

| Skill Details: | Some skills required. Sew Cute! Plushie Making: Block Bear is beginner friendly, but you must know how to thread your machine, wind a bobbin, and generally understand how to use the machine. It is also helpful if you have a few small projects under your belt to get repetition in using the machine. In plushie making, the seam allowance is a important, so being able to sew a straight line is very helpful. We'll help you with tricks to sew on the curve! |

| Requirements: | Must have taken beginner sewing or have equivalent level of experience. Must know how to thread machine and wind bobbins. If your machine has collected some dust in the closet, you may want to consider dusting it off and do a bag-making refresher with our beginner class :) Premium or Upgraded sewing machine rental is also available for this class if you are looking to try a certain machine prior to purchase. These can be purchased from the shop section. Contact us if you have questions. |

| Instructor Bio: | Ash Garner (THECOLORG) is an artist and educator based between Philadelphia and Guam, known for her colorful, character-driven soft sculptures that blend childhood nostalgia with adult introspection. With over a decade of teaching experience, Ash brings warmth, humor, and accessibility to every workshop. She holds an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has taught at Arcadia University, Fleisher Art Memorial, and The Center for Emerging Visual Artists, among others. Her handmade plush creations—ranging from patchwork bears to expressive cats—have been exhibited nationally and are lovingly adopted through places like The Fabric Workshop & Museum and her online plush shop. Ash is passionate about making sewing fun and approachable for all ages, guiding participants through each step with care and creativity.
